The Standing Committees of Congress are the working components of the legislative Body. Each committee considers measures and issues within its jurisdiction and report its findings recommendations to the Speaker in a Standing Committee Report for adoption by the Congress.
There are seven Standing Committees of the Congress, and they are:
- Ways and Means (W&M)
- Resource and Development (R&D)
- Education (E)
- Judiciary and Governmental Operations (J&GO)
- External Affairs (ExAff)
- Transportation and Communications (T&C)
- Health and Social Affairs (H&SA)
Special Committees are appointed by the Speaker and also submit their findings through a Special Committee Report. Aside from the Committee to Wait on the President, the other special committee in the current Congress is the Special Committee on Climate Change.
