President Panuelo calls for 4th Special Session

PALIKIR, POHNPEI. March 16, 2022– President David W. Panuelo, in accordance with Article IX Section 16 within the FSM Constitution,  has called for the Fourth Special Session of the 22nd Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia to convene on March 21, 2022 for a period of 5 days.

According to the President’s call, the purpose of this special session is for Congress to review and address among one of the topics is the amendment of Public Law No. 22-66, to allow for in-person convening of the Constitutional Convention, also included in the topics for the special session are pending foreign grants, nominations and other matters that need the immediate attention of the FSM Congress.

Session times will follow the timeline established for the remote sessions of the Congress: 10:00am in Chuuk and Yap, and 11:00am in Kosrae and Pohnpei. The Congress will be in sessions for the duration of 5 days, unless extended by congressional resolution.

In line with current session practices in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, while the Fourth Special Session will not be opened to the general public, it will however be broadcasted live thru the Congress website: www.cfsm.gov.fm  Interested parties are encouraged to follow the session proceedings online.
