Congress to convene for FY2022 Budget Session

PALIKIR, POHNPEI. September 10, 2021 – Speaker Wesley W. Simina has called for the 2^nd Regular Session of the 22^nd Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia to convene via remote on September 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Chuuk and Yap time and 11 a.m. Kosrae and Pohnpei time.

Therefore, pursuant to and in accordance with article IX, section 16 of the Constitution of the Federated States of Micronesia and section 201, title 3 of the FSM Code, and sections 1 and 3 of Rule 1 of the Rules of Procedure of Congress, the Speaker has informed the other Branches of the National Government along with the state governments that the 2^nd Regular Session of the 22^nd  Congress will convene in Palikir for twenty consecutive days beginning September 13, 2021.

The purpose of this session is to address and wrap up the FY2022 Budget for the new fiscal year, and also to inform all departments, agencies and offices for their cooperation to make this budget session a successful one.

In practice with past sessions in regards for the need for social distancing, it is with regret that the Congress will not be inviting guests to actual sessions. The public and all interested parties are however invited to follow the daily sessions which are to be streamed live at the Congress website: www.cfsm.gov.fm.
