Congress convenes for the 5th Virtual Regular Session

Palikir, Pohnpei. September 10, 2020.  Speaker Wesley W. Simina calls for the 5th Regular Congressional Session to take place on September 14 on Monday, in accordance with sections 1 and 3 of Rule 1 of the Rules of Procedure of Congress and pursuant to and under Article IX, section 16 of the Constitution of the Federated States of Micronesia. The opening will take place at 10 a.m. Pohnpei time via remote sessions for the duration of  20 days.

During this session Congress will review and complete work on the FY 2021 Fiscal Year Budget; revisit the President’s Public Health Emergency Declaration; President’s nominations on various boards and offices; pending legislations and other matters of importance and urgency to this nation.

Due to the need for social distancing, we regretfully cannot invite guests to our actual meeting locations for the opening of this session. All of the proceedings will be transmitted live on the internet and can be followed on the Congress website, cfsm.gov.fm.
